” My name is Daniek Cune and I am currently a third year International Hotel Management student at Breda University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. In the first semester of my third year I did my internship in the revenue department at the support office of O’Callaghan Collection in Dublin (July 2018 – December 2018).
The revenue team consisted of three other people and they made my internship an incredibly valuable and memorable experience! They were all extremely kind from the moment I started until the moment I left. From day one I truly felt a part of the team and I learned a lot from all of them. Not only the revenue department itself but the working environment at O’Callaghan Collection in general is very pleasant. Everyone is incredibly friendly and willing to help when needed.
During my time at the company I had various daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, but there was still a lot of variation in my day-to-day work.
My days typically started with constructing and distributing various reports. After finishing all my regular tasks, the team would generally ask me to help them with what they were working on. As a result, I was doing (and learning!) something new every single day. This wide diversity of tasks was also what I enjoyed the most during my internship, the fact that I did something different and new almost every day made every day unique! In addition, from the week I started I received quite some responsibilities. Even though this was a bit frightening in the beginning, the team was very patient when explaining me (new) things and it helped me learn as much as I possibly could during my time at the company.
The working experience I have gained and the insights and knowledge I obtained during my internship are invaluable for my future in the industry and life in general.”
